It’s official Kodak has discontinued production of Kodachrome. This news came much to the chagrin of photo purists and also to little surprise to all of us who have been witnessing the trending away from film for years. The films departure from the scene comes at a time when there is actually only 1 photo lab in the entire WORLD that can still process kodachrome film. It is somewhere in the midwest.
Kodak tells that the Kodachrome film accounts for only a fraction of 1 percent of their annual revenue.
Where do you stand on film/kodachrome and the likes? Do you think we can capture just as great of pictures with digital or is their truly something that has been lost in the fire so to speak? Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts, anecdotes, and looks to the future.
